For Leadership (Grade 70+)

DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT 202 (DIV 202)

Prerequisite for other diversity classes - NEED ONLY TO BE TAKEN ONCE!

This class needs to be taken first for new leaders (Grade 70+) who have not yet taken DIV 202.

This 4-hour course will focus on practical application of the principles of Diversity at the workplace. Attendees will use experiential learning techniques to explore hands-on activities they can use with staff.

Goals: To share additional practical knowledge for managing diversity and provide TOOLS that will give credence to the concepts of:

  1. team building in a diverse workplace
  2. enhancing relationships
  3. extending excellence

Objectives:

  1. Understand the leader’s ethical, moral, and spiritual privilege in the management of diversity.
  2. Use various techniques to build strong relationships among diverse groups which will enhance inclusivity.
  3. Be able to increase their empathy for individuals and groups that are usually excluded consciously/unconsciously from organizational participation.
