DIVERSITY AWARENESS 100 (DIV 100)

Prerequisite for other diversity classes - NEED ONLY TO BE TAKEN ONCE!

This class needs to be taken first for new supervisors/managers (below grade 70) who have not yet taken DIV 100.

This 4-hour course is specifically designed for the manager level employee. This is an introductory course that explores the concepts of diversity in general and how we can best deal with the challenges and opportunities inherent in a diverse organization.

Goal: To provide a rationale for a culture at Florida Hospital that enhances relationships among employees and between employees and clients.

Objectives:

1. Define diversity in today's changing multicultural environment.
2. Share the focused findings of the Diversity Audit.
3. Give a terse example of diversity management.
4. Apply the concept of diversity awareness to Florida Hospital's faith-based principles.
